Brigil is contributing to National Capital Region’s growth by pursuing Petrie’s Landing development

That’s what Mayor Jim Watson said yesterday, during a celebration at Petrie’s Landing tower II rooftop. Mayor Watson and councillors Matthew Luloff and Laura Dudas, along with Brigil’s associates and several members of the Orléans’s community, have found that the vision of Brigil’s president, Gilles Desjardins, is taking shape since he bought these prime lands between 2001 and 2008.

In the long term, Petrie’s Landing will welcome 8,000 new residents in more than 4,000 condos. The project is divided in three distinct and complementary phases:

  • The first one consists in six luxurious condo towers (1100 units, 4 millions $ in municipal taxes per year, more than 500 million investment).

  • Second phase includes seven four-storey condo buildings and one ten-storey building (514 units, 2 millions $ in municipal taxes per year, 150 millions $ investment).
  •
  • The third phase will be an urban village comprising many residential and commercial options (13 towers for 2,050 units total, one million sq. ft. of commercial spaces, 15 millions $ in municipal taxes per year, more than 2 billions $ investment).

O-Train and densification

Mayor Watson said that Brigil 3 billions $ development will help Ottawa’s need for density around key parts of the city. Orléans, especially in front of the river, with the O-Train coming, is surely one of them.

Mayor Watson noted that the O-Train will pass in front of the community, alongside Highway 417. Petrie’s Landing residents will enjoy this useful transit system by walking to the future Ottawa East terminal, located five minutes away from their front door, at the corner of Trim.

“The universal trend in urban development is to densify our living spaces and connect them to proximity transit systems. Petrie’s Landing and the O-Train are a modern duo that will flourish like any other success somewhere else in big cities in North America, Europe or Asia” added Gilles Desjardins.

An ever-growing community

“We are creating a large community with one of the prettiest scenery in the National Capital Region. Brigil is so proud of Petrie’s Landing! Why? Because it’s the perfect example of what we are trying to do everyday: build a quality of life in prime lands. I’m thrilled to contribute to our great region’s evolution”, said Gilles Desjardins.

Monday’s celebration was an opportunity for Gilles Desjardins to thank and congratulate the Brigil’s family – employees and subcontractors – who worked on 16 floors and 143 units tower II which construction ended a few weeks ago. Brigil’s president also announced that tower III construction will start in February 2020.

About phase II: four-storey buildings 6 and 7 are already under construction and will be ready in July and December 2020. Building 8 site will open in November 2020. These three buildings will offer a grand total of 370 units.

Finally, our team is still developing phase III. The construction will take place between phases I et II, alongside Jeanne-d’Arc blvd.

Residential towers and buildings will include high-end inclusions (stainless steel appliances, superior quality finishes, security system) and five-star services (spa, pool, rooftop urban lounge, fitness centre, etc.). Brigil takes pride in simplifying and brightening its owners and resident’s life.

In addition of Petrie’s Landing, Brigil is selling 21 estate prime lots in Navan and is designing a new community to be built in Rockland, in a superb spot in front of the river.
